The country of Sudan has been in a state of emergency for nearly a year since the eruption of violence in April 2023. The conflict stems from a power struggle between the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) that has led to the displacement of nearly 6 million people within the country.
